ADHD is an abbreviation for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Syndrome. This syndrome is experienced by adults and children. In children, ADHD is often associated with autism. Why some children and adults are more prone to disorders like ADHD is still unclear. |
However, there are some classic symptoms of ADHD a person or a doctor can use to recognize the disorder.
People with ADHD act very impulsively and are very restless most of the time. They are also hyperactive and they can do things very quickly. However, this does not signify intelligence or efficiency and most of the things that they do may be a poor job. The lack of attention and adherence to the process of following instructions makes them restless.
Children or adults with ADHD are easily distracted and they often miss the details, and keep changing their activities. There are several other symptoms of ADHD and there are several methods to treat it.
Some children or adults experience frequent twitching of their eyes, ears and other body parts as a result of hyperactivity or excitement. This happens whenever they feel the impulsiveness. However, ADHD people are born this way and some of these side effects of the disorder cannot be controlled voluntarily. However, their concentration level can be increased by using some medications and psychotherapy treatments. The twitching may also be a possible side effect in people who are taking medications for ADHD. It is not easily noticeable in many and also it may go away after some time. However, medications for ADHD are only prescribed to reduce the symptoms and effects. They cannot cure the condition.
